This building was designed as the relocation site for the Police Hospital and, in view of deterioration and spatial restrictions of existing facilities, the nursing school was also relocated to this new site.Although the intended purpose of the building has not changed, programs have been rearranged while students and tutors have been brought closer together. Our primary aim was to create a facility that will serve as a "Center for the Development of Experts", where high standards of health, welfare and healthcare education are cultivated, and enlightened human qualities are nurtured through hands-on experience.
Along with the latest practical training facilities and environments, the facility also incorporates energy saving fittings such as a natural ventilation system and light shelves. The site implements a zoning system that allows the gymnasium and specific areas of the grounds to be opened for use by other members of the community without interfering with lessons or the running of the school. Furthermore, existing trees were taken into consideration when determining the placement of the buildings, and great efforts were made to create a human-scale and enduring facility in harmony with the surrounding environment, that made the best use of its rich location.
