As a part of improvement project of Kinki University's Higashiosaka Campus, the building was designed to create a "new educational environment for the Faculty of Literature, Arts and Cultural Studies = pop and open studios that stimulate creativity."
Ateliers for visual and performing arts majors are arranged in a large space along with the open corridor on the south side that are linked to the studios. Visualized creative scenes, mutual influences between different creative works, and generation of a creative work itself develop a platform where "learning, creation, and transmission" originate. A white veil of a net fencing has been established on the south side facing the campus, for solar radiation suppression effect and delicate personalization of the open corridor studios. This is an initiative to "create a façade of the society" that attempts to create new values by visualizing advanced technological potentials in unconventional ways and by conducting field works in Higashiosaka, a city known for manufacturing. In addition, the exterior design, which changes color under the lights, and the entrance stimulate the space by transforming lights into particles that produce a creative space without fixation.
