The "Kizu Regional Government Office" is a joint facility that consolidates the three different offices of the Local Public Prosecutor's Office, the Legal Affairs Bureau Branch Office and the "Hello-Work" job seeking services. Our task was to create a facility with a high level of security that would also be open and accessible to the local residents. The entrance halls which allow free passage through the building and connect the outside open spaces to the north and south are concentrated at one end of the facility, while each office zone is clearly marked out to allow an open yet secure building configuration.
The exterior employs exposed concrete eaves that provide uninterrupted shading for the windows and create an elevation form with shadows that emphasize the horizontal lines, while the continuous eaves form a gate that welcomes users to the facility.
