Standing alongside the No.1 building in the Yokosuka Research Park, developed in the hills in the rich natural environment of the Miura Peninsula, the building also functions as a "Green R&D Center".
The building is built on 7 floors with an area of approximately 6,800m2 available on each floor. There are no special research rooms and all space available for R&D is multi-purpose.
The R&D space, which is separated into three zones (south, north and central), has a floor load of 700kg/ m2 and can be used for both normal office space and machine space. In addition, a LAN room has been set up in the central zone on each floor to provide information and communications hub functions and provide flexible support for growth and change in R&D activities.
The seismic isolation structure combines lead plug laminated rubber bearings with oil dampers, and the building also has many green features such as a high efficiency co-generation system that uses a direct exhaust heat conversion absorption cooling machine (SiNAGEO).
