This project had to overcome a difficult site condition in which about 1/3 of the entire site is inclined.
As a solution, we took the approach of turning the slope into an urban park space that is open to the local residents, instead of having to construct buildings on an incline.
A walking trail is created on the slope and connected to the station plaza through a deck terrace, establishing a continuous circulation plan that cuts across the property from east to west. This walking path is accessible to everyone, including the apartment residents, visitors to the commercial buildings, and other local residents.
In contrast to the south side open to the public, the north side of the property is reserved only for the apartment residents by creating a private garden. The private garden incorporates human-scale structures and a landscape design that contrasts the dynamic urban scale design on the south slope.
The goals of the project were to provide a safe and comfortable space for the residents and to achieve an integration with the surrounding environment by creating a landscape in which the buildings stand on a property covered in greenery.
