Through its location next to existing public facilities, the Sekigahara Town Hall forms the public administration zone that is the core of the town. The facility serves to foster communication with the townspeople and is designed to be easy to use and people friendly.
With a design based on the keywords, "Reliability and Safety", "Resource and Energy Saving" and "Flexibility", the facility mainly uses a Cross Linear Bearing (CLB) seismic isolation structure and also incorporates improvements in the internal environment through the use of double skin (external thermal insulation)/Low-E glass and the introduction of long-span space using pre-cast concrete beams. The facility also has disaster preparedness functions (power supply, water supply, communications, etc.) for use in times of disaster, and is designed to stand as a symbol of the town and serve the region for the long-term.
