With the most important theme being to secure the functions of the police station to enable security enforcement during times of disaster, high safety levels are assured through a seismic isolation structure to minimize any diminishing effects on police operations during earthquakes. In addition, the expected lifetime of the building has been improved through the 100 years architecture oriented structure, consequently raising the asset value of the building. The 18.4 x 66m column-less space achieved through the seismic isolation + Partially Prestressed Concrete (PPC) structure means that the building can flexibly accommodate the diverse functional changes in the working environment.
Based on the concept of sustainability, the building actively utilizes natural energy through natural lighting, natural ventilation, solar power generation, water resource conservation through the utilization of rain-water, and the use of recycled board, etc, to achieve a "Geo-environmentally Friendly Facility".
