This hospital was designed to implement "Care for the Heart" by merging medical care, healthcare and welfare services.
In order to encourage the natural stage by stage recovery of social skills in accordance with an in-patient's condition and treatment stage, the 48 beds corresponding to 1 nursing unit are divided into living units consisting of 12 - 15 beds. These units afford patients the ability to socialize in small groups and also provide varied environments and living spaces.
In addition, the design has given in depth attention to privacy and enhanced personal space by providing an environment with decentralized lavatory amenities and single room style multiple bed ward configurations that allow each bed access to natural light.
