The Fuefuki Fire Headquarters Building is a disaster preparedness center that supervises and controls firefighting and rescue activities in response to the diversifying needs of the community in time of disaster.
This facility is comprised of the Fuefuki Fire Headquarters, the Fuefuki Fire Station, and the Fuefuki Regional Administrative Affairs Association offices. The facility aims to impress its presence upon the general community so that people can have peace of mind as they go about their daily lives. The building configuration has been made functional and easy to understand through the creation of independent zones. In addition, in order to cover a wide area, a wide variety of fire-fighting vehicles are on standby in three separate garages for the provision of smooth emergency services.
For aseismatic measures, rolling bearings have been used in the seismic isolation structure to achieve a long-period structure that is considered difficult for low-rise buildings. Furthermore, in order to secure a fixed water supply for the fire headquarters building in times of disaster, the water supply facility uses water receiving tanks fitted with pressure pumps.
