The effective utilization of external space secured through the Comprehensive Design System allowed this comfortable landscape to be formed on this expansive site with three roadside boundaries. The mounds of green that calmly block the line of sight and noise from the street work together with shallow pools to create a pleasant landscape. The exterior adopts a three-tiered design consisting of a base section that blends with the landscape to give the building a stately feel, a simple and calm mid-section with an open-plan corner design and mullions that emphasize the vertical aspect, and translucent glass balustrades and a heliport deck at the top which make the building stand out as a landmark when seen from a distance. The lower levels of the building incorporate an open-plan entrance hall atrium designed as a space in which to welcome honored guests, and a well developed communal area for residents. By using a seismic isolation structure, high-durability/high-strength concrete and a double tube structure, it was possible to realize a building of high safety and durability that affords freedom in planning and flexibility for future refurbishment.
