NTT Facilities took part in the design and supervision of the construction of ALSOK Shizuoka Building, which was completed in May 2010, in front of JR Higashi-Shizuoka Station, with the top priority in securing safety and reliability. The building was constructed to serve as a central facility for ensuring safety in the next-generation society by combining the offices located throughout Shizuoka Prefecture into one.
The requests from the client, Sohgo Security Services Co., Ltd., included an overall design with high security, which takes into consideration protection against outside force, and a facility that can maintain a prompt system in times of emergency and disaster. An emphasis on a strong defense is reflected in the exterior design with a wall structure that permits a minimum aperture on the first and second floors where offices are located. Influenced by a traditional Japanese warehouse style, the building has adopted the grey lower levels representing the roof tiles and the white middle levels depicting the plaster wall.
The building is a result of mutual cooperation and a shared approach to construct a better architecture.
