Reinforced Concrete structure (partial Steel structure), Steel-frame Reinforced Concrete structure, 3 stories above ground, 1 penthouse floor
The building was constructed to establish a workplace that undertakes the central functions as the new headquarters of information infrastructure maintenance in the Hokkaido area and facilitates efficient operations between groups, with a design theme of "GrennITyBuiling of Hokkaido," suitable to the climate and natural features of Hokkaido.
The building has reserved a maximum standard floor area while restricting the height to 3 stories, in consideration of the neighboring apartments. An open staircase in the center allows ventilation and natural illumination through high sidelights.
The seamless and highly insulated exterior walls, which adopt an external heat insulation wall method, minimize the heat loss of the building, while the sweep-out windows with insulated window frames on the south side create a comfortable office space that displays different seasonal views of the greenway throughout the year.
In addition, lighting energy in the office is reduced by drawing in the natural light and incorporating a daylight sensor, while suppressing glare with louver eaves and the light diffusion film in the transom section.
LED lights and a display board for the rooftop solar power generation system are installed in the communal area to showcase the building's efforts in environmental impact reduction to the visitors.
