The Haramachi Cultural Hall "Yume-Hat" plays a role in the further development of artistic culture in Haramachi and serves as a center for citizens cultural and lifelong learning activities.
The name, derived from the facilities exterior silhouette of a silk hat (Hat) and the concept of bringing true a long standing dream (Yume) of the citizens, was selected from the many names suggested in the naming campaign.
The facility is divided broadly into three zones; the great hall zone with excellent acoustics and seating for 1,109, a lifelong learning zone that serves as a "Creative Space" for citizens and artists (multi-purpose hall, practice rooms, etc.), and an art plaza that doubles as a shared lobby for the facility. On top of this, the facility has implemented numerous measures to encourage interaction, participation, creation and presentation.
