Standing on the Aoba Street, lined with beautiful zelkova trees representative of the "Shrine Capital of Japan", the exterior of this office building is comprised of glass curtain walls with terracotta tiling. In order to achieve sustainable architecture, the double wall construction technique refined from our Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation era has been optimized to suit the regional environment. Specifically, with the new development of a dry exterior thermal insulation double wall comprised of PCa plates and terracotta tiles, and other lifecycle considerations such as the use of materials with aseismic and durability qualities for the building frame and cladding, and energy efficiency through to maintainability, the pursuit of high performance is reflected in the design of this building. The glass screen projects the shadows of the trees while the natural coloring of the terracotta tiles achieves a harmony with the surroundings throughout the seasons to create an aesthetic landscape.
