This hall is located within the city park adjacent to the JR Miyakonojo station. Centering on the "Art Mall", a shared space designed to promote the creative activities and social interaction of the citizens, the facility consists of two large and medium sized halls, and a production training block with numerous training rooms and TV studios, that make this facility the stronghold for arts & culture interaction and production in the South Kyushu region.
The Art Mall is a semi-outdoor space that allows regular access through from the shopping district to the north of the site to the verdant Kanbashira Park to the south. The training room activities of the production block, the TV studios and the exhibitions in the multi-gallery line the mall in a highly visible configuration that secures maximum exposure and enables them to attract the attention of visitors. Furthermore, the "Fureai Plaza", positioned by the park, is effectively a third hall that serves as a venue for outdoor events, which generates a perpetual festive mood even on days when the venue is not in use.
In addition, citizens' participation workshops were held from the design stage, and the integration of citizens' input in facility design and operational methods facilitated the realization of an "Easy to use and always in use cultural facility".
