The complex was constructed in a redevelopment project that combines a public cultural facility and a commercial facility in downtown Miyazaki City. Although large cultural facilities such as concert halls, museums, and libraries are available in the suburban area, there have been requests for a downtown center for activities available for the citizens in their everyday lives in the central urban area, where revitalization is sought. Retail stores surround the plaza, which faces the arcade and acts as an interface between the facility and the town and as the focal point of the entire premises. The design incorporates a three-dimensional circulation planning and space composition to provide a casual and productive space experience of "seeing ⇔ showing" activities by guiding visitors to the Art Center in the upper levels where displays and activity spaces of various sizes are set up with the plaza as a base point.
It aims to be the symbol of downtown revitalization as a place where children and adults can get in touch with authentic values.
