The new Miyoshi City hall is constructed to withstand any natural disasters, such as Tokai/Tonankai earthquakes expected with high probability in the near future, by incorporating a seismic isolation structure to maintain its reliable function as a disaster prevention and recovery center for a long period of time. This building incorporates an information plaza, waiting space, kids' corner, and universal design for user accessibility and employs an eco-void, solar power generation panels, rooftop gardening, greening balconies, rain water and well water use, and LED lighting for environmental considerations. This "user and environment friendly city hall" is well incorporated in the lives of the citizens.
