This new headquarters building is the culmination of a phased project in which five buildings standing on the same site were gradually rebuilt to accommodate digital broadcasting, while fully utilizing existing broadcasting functions.
The aim of the project was to create an open broadcasting station that members of the community would find approachable.
This new headquarters building is the culmination of a phased project in which five buildings standing on the same site were gradually rebuilt to accommodate digital broadcasting, while fully utilizing existing broadcasting functions.
The aim of the project was to create an open broadcasting station that members of the community would find approachable.
This facility incorporates a forecourt set back a maximum 33m from the road, an open entrance activity spaces for members of the community, and a public radio studio. The light-filled patio area adjoining the entrance, epitomizes the concept of an "open" broadcasting station and also acts as the central hub connecting to the other buildings.
For distinct areas, such as the 1st floor open studios and the rooftop gardens of the 5th floor executive zone, etc, the design adds volume in some areas and cuts away sections in others to create a varied appearance and a rhythmical feel.
