With the goal of developing a facility well-suited as an international financial center, Otemachi Financial City North Tower has been established as a part of the second phase of the Chain Urban Renaissance Project in Otemachi, Tokyo, with which urban redevelopment of city blocks is in progress.
The premises, composed of the North Tower, South Tower, and an atrium connecting the two, retain a unity as an establishment with shared basic design codes such as the tower design which emphasizes a vertical line to balance with the refined cityscape of Otemachi, a 3-layer composition, and a high podium.
At the ground level where rows of Japanese zelkova trees cast shadows, a bustling atmosphere of Naka-dori, generated from the integration of stores, is created by adding a lunch terrace on the mezzanine facing the extended part of Naka-dori, in order to form a lively city block and an urban space with good circulation. This city block is also designed to be linked with the area of the subsequent third-phase chain development project.
In addition, the whole city block contributes to the underground pedestrian network of Otemachi district by connecting the surrounding city blocks and the subway station all underground.
