While taking care to keep in line with the ambiance of Kamakura, the theme of this facility is to offer not quite luxurious but nevertheless comfortable and good quality living space for the elderly.
With the characteristics of the surrounding environment and the functional requirements of the building in mind, the facility design incorporates the effective use of natural light, wind and planting, with "Japanese style" and "tradition" as the keynote flavors that characterize the interior and achieve just the right balance between formal and youthful.
Making full use of the characteristics of the long site running from north to south, the floor plate boasts an excellent view, and with a dayroom filled with natural light and corridors that encourage walking, the facility allows residents to "choose the areas that they like".
The building is 5-stories high in keeping with the local townscape. An open plan piloti and light gardens have been designed into the front side of the facility facing the road to create an approach that will comfortably welcome visitors and function as a contact point with the surrounding area.
