As the research and development site and headquarters of STEP Corporation, a development company for mobile phone related software, the building was constructed in Kurihama Techno-park, an industrial zone established for advanced technology companies.
The metal panels of the exterior walls reflect the advanced technology nature of the company while the louvers and eaves that create the ordered rhythm of light and shadow give the building a strong flavor. The entrance and 2nd floor development rooms are entirely glass-walled to create a bright space with an expansive feel.
In addition, from the perspective of energy conservation, initiatives such as the super-insulated metal panels with excellent insulating properties used on the exterior wall and the installation of ventilators to allow natural ventilation have been implemented. Full security measures have also been adopted with non-contact IC card locks and network monitoring cameras.
