Toyota City's welfare center was constructed as "a central base of welfare activities in which welfare services are provided and human resource development takes place." The facility places emphasis on achieving universal design and environmental sensitivity. It has achieved desired building performances such as establishment of paths without any steps to allow horizontal movement and implementation of solar power generation and roof greening. In addition, an auditorium with 575 seats and 18 spaces for wheelchairs can accommodate a wide range of programs and is expected to serve as the source of various types of information for the citizens.
