NTT FACILITIES INC. (President and CEO: Kiyoshi Tsutsui, NTTF), a Japanese company specializing in mission-critical telecommunication buildings with vast experience in power supplies and mechanical equipment, has reached an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Singapore's Pro-Matrix Pte Ltd. Upon closing, Pro-Matrix will become a member of the NTTF group of companies. The transaction is expected to be completed in October, 2014.

The global race to compete for enterprise spending on hosted services and data center capacity is fiercely heating up, and the Singapore market is no different. Given Singapore's status as a regional IT hub, many large international telecommunication carriers have recently constructed purpose-built datacenter facilities here, and the city-state is widely considered to be one of the key data center growth markets in the Asia Pacific region. Singapore's data center market holds much promise, driven by the growing trend of outsourcing, mobility (cloud computing), big data, high density computing, as well the increasing need for business continuity, for example, in times of natural disasters. Regulatory requirements surrounding business continuity are also helping to drive this trend.

With the combination of Pro-Matrix's already highly acclaimed datacenter engineering ability, both Pro-Matrix and NTTF, together with its Singapore branch, are now able to provide completely integrated data center facility engineering service in rapidly growing Singapore market.

This latest acquisition is part of NTTF's plan to accelerate its expansion into the global market to provide integrated and comprehensive facility services, from consulting and designing, through to construction and maintenance, by accumulating business bases that offer a full line of engineering capabilities. As part of further plans that NTTF envisages for its global expansion, it intends to leverage its knowledge and experience in architectural and electrical engineering to provide renewable energy solutions such as solar power system in near future.
